The #15 In the North Ranked Thunderbirds take on the Holy Names University Hawks JV Squad

The #15 in the north ranked Thunderbirds took on the Holy Names University Hawks JV Squad on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 7:30pm at Holy Names University. The Holy Names University Hawks were hot from the three point line and took and early 12-6 lead in the first half. After a 30 second time out the Thunderbirds came out poised to take control of the game and with pressure defense, solid rebounding and superb passing took the lead at halftime 67-45. In the second half it was more of the same from the Thunderbirds as Tyler Idowu and William Tolfree placed an exclamation point on the game with tremendous dunks! The Thunderbirds cruised to victory by 42 and surpassed the 100 point mark for the first time this season. The final score Thunderbirds 114 and the Holy Names Hawks 72. The Thunderbirds current record stands a 9-4.

Roman Robinson led the Thunderbirds in scoring and had his first double double of the season with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steals.

Tyler Idowu also had another double double with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Saajid Polite had 16 points 5 assists and 2 steals.

Gurpreet Sandher displayed a versatile offensive game with 12 points.

William Tolefree had a double double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Nick Capiti had 10 points and 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks.

Contrail Dixon scored double figures for the first time this season with 10 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.

The Thunderbirds displayed a good team effort and look to continue there progress at the Chabot College Classic December 28-30 at Chabot College. The Thunderbirds open up the first round vs the #19th in the state and #9 in the north ranked Cabrillo College Seahawks Tuesday December 28, 2010 at 3pm.
