YUBA SLIPS BY THE THUNDERBIRDS 75-73

In one of the better games the Thunderbirds have played in there last 10 games Yuba college was able to slip by the Thunderbirds by the score 75-73. The Thunderbirds went into halftime trailing 35-30. In the 2nd half the Thunderbirds played determined and had a 3 point lead in the last minute. In the final minute a lack defensive communication allowed Yuba college to take a un-contested 3 point shot tying the game. The Thunderbirds then came down in there next possession and turned it over allowing Yuba college to come down and score putting Yuba college up by 2 points. The Thunderbirds in there next possession didn't score and had to foul. Yuba hit 1 out of 2 in the bonus and the Thunderbirds tried a desperation 3 point shot but were fouled before getting the shot off. The Thunderbirds hit the first free throw and attempted to miss the second and tried to tip the ball in unsuccessfully and in the end the Thunderbirds fall to Yuba College by 2 points 75-73.

The Thunderbirds were led by:

Saajid Polite 19 points 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Richard Walker had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Roman Robinson had 10 points and 5 rebounds.

William Tolefree had 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Joshua Hatcher had 10 points and 5 rebounds

Nick Capiti added 10 points.

If the Thunderbirds are able to build on this game they will have a opportunity to redeem themselves in there final 3 conference games as well as in the Bay Valley Conference Tournament at the conclusion of the season. This will open the opportunity for a possible California State Tournament birth!

GO THUNDERBIRDS!!!!!
